Siblings and Mental Health Awareness Week 2024
This week we’re talking about how moving more can help you, as it’s the theme of Mental Health Awareness Week 2024. We know that our bodies and our minds are connected, so keeping your body moving also helps you have good mental health.
It can be normal to feel a bit down for a number of reasons in daily life. For example
- School work might feel difficult
- Home life might be tough
- People at school might behave in an unkind way
If any of this is happening to you, tell someone. Do speak to a family member, a teacher or a friend. Don’t suffer alone. Speaking about something which is bothering you can make you feel better.
However, keeping moving can also help to make you feel better. You can;
- Go for a walk
- Play sports with a friend
- Dance around the kitchen
Be kind to yourself if you are upset. Look out for other people in your family who might need help too. If they are not comfortable sharing feelings, just ask them ‘Are you OK?’
Tell the team at Sibs what you do to make yourself feel better and how you are keeping moving for Mental Health Awareness Week 2024!
