The day my sister was born, I had no idea this tiny baby would become the most important person in the world to me. Nearly four decades later, we are soul mates.
As children, we could be silly together but we were too different to enjoy the same things. That all changed when I took her on her first trip to the cinema to see Aladdin in 1993 – it started a lifelong bond over Disney animated films.
She’s in a new care home now and I can’t wait until the pandemic rules are relaxed and she’s finally allowed to come home to see her family. She can help me to make tea and cake – she makes weak tea but excellent cakes – then we can sit together on the sofa and watch Disney films for the rest of the day!
